This Fellowship has been part of the church’s devotional structure for many years. It was originally the Bright Hour, and devised as a midweek time for women. It was a ‘connexional’ organisation concerned with Women’s Work in the church. It changed its name to the Women’s Fellowship and the national organisation became ‘Network’.
Over a number of years Moorland Road wished to include men, as there was nothing specific for them. This has been achieved in the last few years.
The group meets almost every week on a Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 p.m. The programme is varied. Most speakers have a biblical message; but we include those who are doing interesting things in the community, supporting a diversity of missionary activities or have particular interests. The afternoon begins with a hymn, a prayer and Bible reading, we finish with a hymn, the Grace and, always, a cup of tea and a biscuit.
