Methodism

For those of you who are new to Methodism and want to find out more follow this link to the website of the Methodist Church in Britain.

The term used to describe all of the Methodist Churches as a whole is a 'Connexion' - which describes the way that all churches are 'connected' to one another.

At the most local level churches are grouped together into 'Circuits' (ours is the Frome Valley Circuit) and a number of these 'circuits' form a 'District' (ours being the Bristol District). The Connexion as a whole consists of 33 Districts.

The governing body of the church is the 'Conference'.
