Girls' Brigade

1st Yate Girls' Brigade meet at the church each Wednesday evening during term-time.

Girls' Brigade split the girls up into different age groups:

During the year girls work for a badge which covers topics from the sections of spiritual, physical, educational and service. We also undertake a variety of other activities such as games, craft, cooking and singing. At times we also join others from the Bristol area for activities and trips.

As well as badge work completed on Wednesday evenings, girls can earn an Attendance Award for 75% attendance on Wednesday evenings and a Church Service Award for 75% attendance at a Church or Sunday School.

We hold a monthly parade and family service on the second Sunday of each month starting at 10.30 a.m. Girls meet at 10.15 wearing uniform - families and friends are obviously very welcome to join us on Sunday mornings. These services are part of our Girls' Brigade programme and we ask that girls make every effort to attend regularly.

Girls should wear GB polo shirts and GB sweatshirts each Wednesday night with navy skirt or black/navy trousers. Uniform can be ordered and costs approximately £22 to £25 for a polo and sweatshirt. Skirts should be worn for parades.

Our termly subscriptions are £5 per girl (x6) - these should be paid on the first week of each new term. There is also an annual membership fee of £5 which is payable on joining.

If you would like further information then please email us on the general church email address.
