Sunday, 27th June

An afternoon tea and sing-along based on the 1940s'.

Almost 80 people joined us for the afternoon which provided ample opportunity to meet with old friends, share wartime memories and share in a plateful of spam sandwiches!
The singing included such favourites as Lavender Blue, the White Cliffs of Dover, You’ll Never Walk Alone and Music! Music! Music! The singing was enjoyed by all and many poignant wartime tales were shared.

 Saturday, 17th July

The weather was kind to us again and we were able to have a proper Street Party as our children, and many adults, commemorated the Queens Coronation in 1953.
Many of the youngsters, as well as a few adults, entered the ‘Fancy Hat’ competition which had a red, white and blue theme. The children also enjoyed some traditional games such as hop-scotch, hula hoops, skipping and ‘pin the tail on the donkey’. The afternoon ended with a traditional tea which included, much to the childrens amazement, pink blancmange in the shape of a rabbit (which many of the adults remembered with much fondness).

A big social event this time and an opportunity for everyone to let their hair down! We danced the night away, 60's and 70's style, to to the music of the renowned local band: Footloose.

 Saturday, 13th November

Our Annual Christmas event had a few changes this year, including changing its name from the Christmas Bazaar to the Christmas Fayre. The day was once again very well supported with lunches served from 1 p.m. and finally closing at 4 p.m.
